At a recent SEG Insights MAT Leader roundtable, Supporting Education Group brought trust leaders together to discuss workforce planning in increasingly uncertain times. Conversations centred on the practical challenges of fluctuating pupil numbers, delayed data and evolving staff expectations.
Leaders highlighted the value of shorter, scenario-based planning horizons, robust “apples-to-apples” benchmarking and targeted upskilling to help retain and support experienced staff. SupplyBank and SkillsHub were also discussed as practical ways to reduce spend, improve transparency and provide a more joined-up approach to workforce planning across trusts.
