In everyday life, we rely on labels. Food, medication, plants and materials are all labelled to guide understanding and inform the right response. In neurodevelopmental practice, labels can feel more complex. This is often because they have been applied without sufficient depth, leaving families without clear direction. A comprehensive assessment offers something different.
Through detailed exploration of a child’s profile, it provides an accurate and meaningful understanding of need. When grounded in clinical rigour, a diagnostic label is not reductive. It becomes a framework for clarity, guiding appropriate support, informing education strategies and enabling more consistent and informed care around the child.
